Blyth Academy London Testimonials

“Part of our decision to join the London Knights organization was the opportunity for our son to attend Blyth Academy. The small class sizes enabled the Blyth staff to understand our son’s learning style, implement his educational accommodations and take a more hands on approach in order to work with him for academic success. The Blyth staff is well trained and really cares about its students.  They made our son enjoy school once again.

Blyth staff is qualified and understood how to teach and implement the various accommodations for visual learners (Dyslexia). Staff is also patient cares about each individual student. I feel they made him feel important again in the classroom therefore he gained educational success.

We are thrilled with our experience at Blyth London. The classes are small and the teachers inspired our son to learn and to work hard. It was obvious to us as parents that the teachers took the time to get to know our son and to bring out his potential in a way that had not been done before.

The leadership is excellent and responsive and we especially appreciated the patient and thorough guidance.

We picked Blyth Academy because we did not want our child to be a just a number like in the public school system. The staff is always approachable, emergencies are dealt with immediately and problems are discussed and solved quickly for the benefit of the student, not for the convenience of the teacher. Ideal for children with a unique learning approach, the small classes make it possible to get individual attention whenever necessary. Blyth has made all the difference for our son, who finally finds school interesting!

We can’t say enough good about the school and staff, everyone has been so helpful, and in their own way are a very big part of this success.  The support and kindness has been unlike anything we could have imagined.

Coming from a big high school, Blyth provided me with the opportunity to succeed because of the small classes and the friendly environment.

Josh Robbins – London, grade 12 student

Blyth Academy London is a great school with so many wonderful teachers and students around you! I would never trade the experience for anything and will always remember the lessons I’ve learned.

Ilvina Ismagilova – Russia, grade 12 student

Blyth Academy is a wonderful place to work. The teachers are all very supportive of one another and work well together in creating cross curricular and extra curricular activities for the students. Administration supports the teachers in whatever way we need and allow us to teach in a way that is most beneficial to our students. Having 12 or fewer students in your classroom means that you get to know how your students learn and can help them to be successful. The entire campus has a warm and welcoming atmosphere that people notice right away. We are a close knit community and it is because of this that the teachers, and students are happy and successful. It is a wonderful community that benefits both teachers and students a like.

Trish Hurley – Teacher

Why do I teach at Blyth? Three reasons: The students, the staff, and the philosophy.

I love the smaller class size we have here at Blyth. It allows me, as a teacher, to really focus in on the needs of my students as I teach. Being able to target a student’s strengths and weaknesses, and ensure that they get the best experience in the classes I’m teaching is a major advantage to me. Plus, it allows the staff to get to know the students and create a safe and welcoming environment every day.

The staff here at Blyth London is wonderful. We’ve developed some strong relationships and I’ve been given a really warm welcome here, as a new teacher at Blyth London. The group makes a point of sharing perspectives together, but also makes time to establish friendships outside of school hours.

The philosophy of experiential learning that has been developed at Blyth is something I truly appreciate. There is so much emphasis on finding ways to reinforce learnings through hands-on activities, and I believe this is a major reason why our students succeed. It also challenges the teachers to continue learning about teaching, and to develop new strategies to effectively communicate and reinforce concepts to our students.

Andrew Philbrook – Teacher

Blyth has a nurturing, safe environment of devoted staff and teachers who have encouraged our son to grow and reach his full potential in his high school years.  The teachers keep the small classes engaged and our son wanting to learn and produce his best work.  Blyth has become an extension of our family for our son.  We give a 5 star rating to Blyth Academy.
