Please find attached this week’s newsletter. It includes Upcoming Events, Spotlight on Athletics, Being Brilliant in Grade 12 Recreation and Leadership, Coles’ Notes and What You Never Knew About…Ms. Champagne!
There has been a lot of interest in our two new enrichment courses detailed below. There are only TWO spaces left in “Earth and Space Science” and EIGHT spots left in “Recreation Leadership.” Please speak to Dan or Luke if you have interest in either of these opportunities.
1) SES4U “Earth and Space Science”: Course will include a 4 day, 3 night expedition to Thunder Bay, Fort William, David Thompson Observatory, Sleeping Giant Provincial Park, and Porphyry Point Island and Lighthouse. Estimated $980 all-inclusive cost for a trip that sounds truly amazing!
2) PLF4M “Recreation Leadership”: This course includes a week in Algonquin Park complete with Bushcraft, paddling, and wilderness/survival skill certificates. Estimated $950 all-inclusive cost for this trip.
Other Blyth Academy Lawrence Park News
Last week the Grade 9 and 10 Foundations class ventured out to the Algonquin Wilderness on a dog sledding camping trip with Outward Bound. Over the course of the three-day trip, the students had the opportunity to sleep under the stars in a snow structure they built,
On Friday night Blyth Academy Lawrence Park hosted the inaugural Blyth Academy Semi-Formal at the Wallen Nightclub in downtown Toronto. Organized by Lawrence Park’s Student Council, it included students from Lawrence Park, Thornhill and Downsview Park.
