LWIDU online provides extended opportunities for students to communicate and interact in Italian in a variety of social and academic contexts. Students will refine and enhance their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, as well as their creative and critical thinking skills, as they explore and respond to a variety of oral and written texts, including complex authentic and adapted texts. In LWIDU online, students will also broaden their understanding and appreciation of diverse communities where Italian is spoken, and develop skills necessary for lifelong language learning.
UNIT ONE
Festività nazionali in Italia- In this unit, students will explore different aspects of Italian holidays and festivals. In this context, they will learn new vocabulary words and phrases that are associated with each theme. Students will practice their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills by exploring texts, images, and videos on these themes and will practice applying them to their own experiences and environments.
UNIT TWO
Storia Italiana- In this unit, students will explore key parts of Italian history. In this context, they will learn new vocabulary words and phrases that are associated with each time period and topic. Students will practice their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills by exploring texts, images, and videos on these themes and will practice applying them to their own experiences and environments.
UNIT THREE
Una vita sana- In this unit, students will explore topics related to a healthy lifestyle. In this context, they will learn new vocabulary words and phrases that are associated with each theme. Students will practice their Listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills by exploring texts, images, and videos on these themes and will practice applying them to their own experiences and environments.
UNIT FOUR
Le arti in Italia- In this unit, students will explore topics related to art, such as: literature, film, music, and art itself. In this context, they will learn new vocabulary words and phrases that are associated with each theme. Students will practice their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills by exploring texts, images, and videos on these themes and will practice applying them to their own experiences and environments.
FINAL EXAM
Proctored Exam- This exam is the final evaluation of LWIDU online. Students need to arrange their final exam 10 days in advance. All coursework should be completed and submitted before writing the final exam, please be advised that once the exam is written, any outstanding coursework will be given a grade of zero. The exam will be two hours.
