WHAT IS LEAP?
The Blyth Academy LEAP program is a unique opportunity for advanced elementary school students to take high school courses online anytime, anywhere, and at any age. Our program is aimed at students that have the capability to work ahead of their current grade level in a variety of subjects. These students have access to Blyth Academy Online courses in which they can exhibit an advanced level of understanding.
Students in our online courses not only adopt the 4Cs approach; Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity when studying our high school curricula, but they also find a space to be self-responsible and innovative at an early age.
Online education programs offer bright students a variety of ways to take their learning beyond the textbooks. Experiential learning is an important part of the Blyth Academy experience and our online classes provide opportunities to interact with course material away from the keyboard.
Our flexible schedules provide the ability to join courses, finish assignments and study any day of the year.
HOW WILL THEY BE EVALUATED?
Students are required to complete an online placement evaluation to determine if they demonstrate an advanced understanding of the subject they wish to study. Recommendations for further study on our program will be given upon completion of the evaluation.
WILL MY CHILD EARN HIGH SCHOOL CREDITS?
Blyth Academy Online courses are accredited by the Ontario Ministry of Education, so students completing courses through the LEAP program will get a head start on earning credits toward their Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
