Cancellation Policy for Full-time Programs

Full-time Domestic Students:

  • Students must submit proof of pre-requisite for above course(s) upon registration
  • All cancellations must be made in writing.
  • Multi-course packages (6/7/8 Course Packages) are offered at discounted rates and cannot be broken throughout the Academic school year. Upon registration, tuition fees paid for multi-course packages are non-refundable under any circumstance.
  • In the event a student is suspended, expelled, or otherwise required to leave Blyth for any reason, all fees paid to Blyth are strictly non-refundable, no exceptions.
  • Registration fees are non-refundable under any circumstance.
  • An NSF fee of $50 will be applied to all cheques processed with insufficient funds.
  • Credit notes are non-transferable, valid for 12 months from issue date, and are applicable to all Blyth Academy programs
  • In the event that a student is ineligible for admission prior to the course start date, all fees paid will be refunded.
  • Items not included in tuition fees: textbooks and school supplies, materials fee, field trips (not associated with the foundations or partnership programs), science lab fee, special events (i.e. prom or graduation ceremonies), partnership course fees
  • In the event that a student/parents are not forthcoming with information which could negatively impact the performance of the student or their peers, Blyth Academy reserves the right to dismiss the student from the school.

Term-by-Term Enrolment:

  • Tuition Fees are fully refundable up until 90 days prior to the commencement of the course.
  • Registration fees are non-refundable under any circumstance.
  • Between 89-46 days prior to the commencement of the course, a credit note for 100% of the value of the course will be issued.
  • Within 45 days of the commencement of the course, there will be no refunds or credit notes issued.

For International Students
International students will be refunded 100% of their tuition should their Study Permits be declined with the following caveat: families must complete a request for refund form and attach proof of refusal and forward both to Blyth Admissions within 15 working days from the day stated on their Letter of Refusal. The registration fee is non-refundable and tuition fees are otherwise non-refundable.

Special Case – Missed Installment Payments:
Missed installment payments will continue to be monitored and managed by the Registration team. The $50 fee will be levied and families will be given 72 business hours to resolve a missed installment payment.

If payment is not resolved, the student will be considered in default and the Campus notified to restrict attendance until payment is made.

Special Case – Term-by-Term Students:
For those students exercising our term-by-term course options, families will be contacted via email 6-weeks prior to the start of any given term to notify them of Blyth’s intent to charge tuition for 2 courses at the 30-day mark.

Families will be given a 2-week window of opportunity to opt-out by notifying us in writing that they will not be returning OR confirm a scheduled appointment date with their Campus for resolution prior to the 30-day mark.
 

Cancellation Policy for Night School, Summer, Private & Online Courses

  • Student must submit proof of pre-requisite for above course(s) upon registration.
  • All cancellations must be made in writing.
  • in the event a student is suspended, expelled, or otherwise required to leave Blyth Academy for any reason, all fees paid to Blyth are strictly Non-refundable, no exceptions.
  • Discounts cannot be combined under any circumstance.
  • Tuition fees for night school & summer courses are fully refundable up until 90 days prior to the commencement of the course.
  • Between 89-46 days prior to the commencement of the course, a credit note for 100% of the value of the course will be issued.
  • Within 45 days of the commencement of the course, there will be no refunds or credit notes issued.
  • All private, repeat, and semi-private course fees require a 50% deposit upon registration and balance payment in full once a teacher has been found. Private, repeat, and semi-private courses are not guaranteed and can take anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months to staff.
  • in the event a private, repeat, or semi-private course cannot be staffed, the 50% deposit paid will be refunded in full.
  • Blyth Academy Online fees are due in full prior to course start and are non refundable.
  • Blyth Academy Online courses may be transferred for the same student to another online course prior to course start for an administrative fee of $150.00.
  • An NSF fee of $50 will be applied to all cheques processed with insufficient funds.
  • late payments will be assessed a $50 surcharge for failure to pay by the date(s) specified on all invoices.
  • Credit notes are non-transferable, valid for 12 months from issue date, and are applicable to all Blyth Academy programs.
  • Blyth Academy will refund 100% of the tuition fees paid in the event that we are not able to offer an advertised course.
  • In the event that a student is ineligible for admission prior to the course start date, all fees paid will be refunded.
  • Items not included in tuition fees: textbooks, e-books, and school supplies, materials fee, field trips (not associated with the foundations or Partnership programs), science lab fee, special events (i.e. prom or graduation ceremonies), partnership course fees.
  • Course offerings vary by school and some schools do not offer all courses. All dates and times are subject to change. Blyth Academy reserves the right to cancel courses at any time, for lack of sufficient enrolment. In the event a course is withdrawn, students will have priority access to another course or will receive a full refund.

Effective March 17, 2020, Blyth Academy is remote organization in hopes of doing our part to slow the spread of COVID-19. We will be receiving all emails, phone calls, and voicemails and are dedicated to maintaining business as usual. Thank you for your continued support!

Though our doors are temporarily closed, the minds of our students will remain open. Our students will continue their academic journey through virtual classrooms, to ensure our students don’t miss out on valuable curriculum hours. Our small class sizes and individualized approach will continue in a virtual model, as will the structure that students need to be engaged and successful during the closure. Live virtual classes, office hours, guidance support and even extracurricular activities will continue through virtual tools. In these uncertain times, we believe that our students benefit greatly from the structure, social interaction and support their school provides them.

Our plans include continuing term three virtually, along with all of the usual processes for student report cards and information sharing with post-secondary institutions delivered on schedule. Planning for term four is underway with Principals and guidance staff working on finalizing courses and students’ schedules.
