Message from our Principal

Danielle KendallMay I warmly welcome you to our campus, located at the intersection
of Bayview Avenue and John Street in Thornhill. Although we are centrally located in the Thornhill Square, and close to many of the attractions, galleries, and events in the vicinity, at our core we are a quiet, welcoming, and peaceful school community. From the moment you walk in the front door of our campus, you will immediately discover the type of culture we have created here at Blyth Academy Thornhill. From our Academic Administrator Marlene (who has a fine selection of candy available for students) to our experienced and dedicated OCT teachers, to our in-depth guidance support provided by Mrs. Flanagan, you will understand that we are a school with a holistic and personal approach to learning.

It's National Gingerbread House Day! #didyouknow the first known recipe for gingerbread came from Greece in 2400 BC? Gingerbread houses weren't built until popularity rose when the Brothers Grimm released Hansel and Gretel in 1812. Today, they represent all things holiday! ☃️🎄 Why not spice it up this year and make a gingerbread school? 🏠 We're giving you a head start on the design because this house sure looks a lot like our Burlington campus. 🤔

In 2012, when she was only 15 years old, she was shot on her way home from school. After months of recovery she continues to be an activist for human rights and is currently studying Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at the University of Oxford. She received a Nobel Prize and became the youngest Nobel laureate.

Many people are still unaware of their basic rights as human beings. Check out the link below to read the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. #standupforhumanrights #humanrightsday
