A Private School for Grades 9 – 12
Important Announcement
Blyth Academy is excited to announce the merger of our Yorkville and Lawrence Park campuses into a single school operating out of the current Lawrence Park facility in Toronto, under the leadership of Principal Michael Booth. This merger will bring together the best of both campuses, and result in an even more robust and fulfilling experience for our students, beginning Term 4, April 2021.
About Our Campus
With its central location in the heart of Toronto, the students, staff and families of Blyth Academy Yorkville represent a diverse cross-section of the city’s population. At our school, the city is featured as an integral part of the curriculum, presenting current issues to study and engaging sites to experience.
Blyth Academy Yorkville promotes an inclusive culture dedicated to the development and maintenance of high academic standards. In addition to supporting the development of study skills and knowledge through extended academic support options, we invite students to create purpose, discover principles, and develop community through our Passport Program. The Passport Program provides and reports on three essential strands: preparation for post-secondary life, global citizenship, and health and wellness, through in-class and extra-curricular activities driven by student initiative and interest.
We make every effort to enliven and engage our students’ high school experience. Most importantly, our empathetic and supportive teachers, guidance counsellors, and administrative staff promote authentic and lasting connections. Throughout, we maintain frequent and open lines of communication with students’ families and guardians.
A particularly exciting opportunity for senior Blyth Academy Yorkville students is participation in The Global Ideas Institute. This is a yearlong seminar offered at the University of Toronto, in partnership with the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, Ontario Institute for Studies in Education and World Vision Canada. Our Grade 11 and 12 students participate in monthly sessions featuring keynote speakers, and develop group research projects guided by University of Toronto students.

Important Announcement | Yorkville
I am writing to inform you about a major development for the campus for next year. As I have discussed with many of you, our current property on St. Nicholas Street has been slated for redevelopment, and we have been seeking an alternative property for the last several years.
Update From Principal Booth | Yorkville
Welcome to 2021! I’m sure we had all hoped it might start a little better than 2020, but alas it appears that we will be having to dig in a little longer before the viruses, both physical and political, are behind us.
Update From Principal Booth | Yorkville & Orbit
As we fast approach the holiday break, I wanted to send a (hopefully) brief note of best wishes to you all, and wish you a more than well-deserved period of rest..

Message From Our Principal
Welcome to Blyth Academy Yorkville, an inclusive, diverse school community where students forge lasting connections with teachers and peers as they engage in a rigorous learning experience. This year, we are very excited to launch the Blyth Academy Passport Program, through which students will earn certificates in three strands: post-secondary preparation, intercultural competence, and wellness. This program will supplement our signature offerings of small class sizes, extensive academic support and highly personalized learning pathways.
To learn more about our unique school, I encourage you to meet with myself and the team, visit some classes, and speak to current students about how Blyth Academy has inspired their happiness and success.

What our Families are Saying…
“Our daughter was lost in a class of 40 at her former school. At Blyth, she has personal attention and her marks reflect her happiness. We are ‘over the moon’ to see her enthusiastically going to school each day! The teachers at Blyth are proactive in their approach to teaching the curriculum. Now she has eight pupils in her class, receives personal attention, and her marks have improved dramatically. I love to see enthusiastic teaching efforts. You guys rock!”
“Blyth Academy teachers and administration are professional and respectful. The team at the Yorkville Campus are encouraging, perceptive, mindful and extremely supportive of the students’ academic and personal needs. I am grateful that my son has had the opportunity to attend Blyth Yorkville since Grade 9 and just finished Grade 11. In September 2019, my younger son will enrol in Grade 9. I would highly recommend the Blyth Academy Program for all Grades.”
“This was a great Grade 12 year for my son. The teachers he had were amazing and so supportive. He enjoyed the intimacy of small classes and will enter university with a rock-solid understanding of fundamentals. He became immersed into the community of Blyth through student council and had a fantastic year. Thank you, Blyth.”
