On March 4th, the Fellowship of Pembroke College elected Sam Blyth as a Fellow Commoner of the College. Founded in 1347, Pembroke is one of Cambridge’s oldest colleges and was recently ranked #2 academically amongst the 30 Cambridge colleges.
Each year through Blyth Cambridge Commonwealth Trust Scholars we fund up to four Canadians and landed immigrants to do their undergraduate degrees at Cambridge. Most are residents at Pembroke and Trinity College and last year 80% of them achieved firsts and three placed in the top 10 in the subjects in the university. Brilliant young Canadians who would not otherwise have had the financial means to attend Cambridge.
