Blyth Academy’s Cawthra Estate campus had a successful “Socks4Souls” fundraiser before the Winter Break. The students at the campus raised over 1,100 socks for the homeless in the GTA and were awarded a certificate of appreciation from the organization for their efforts. The Cawthra Estate campus is the first private school to support the “Socks4Souls” organization. The entire campus was able to fundraise enough socks to reach one fifth of the organization’s goal of 5,000 socks for the year. The grade ten foundations students, along with their foundations teacher Mr. Panchyshyn and head of lower school Tania Freire, worked assiduously to bundle and wrap the socks, while students from grades seven to ten were extremely generous with their donations of socks. Their efforts were outstanding. Thank you to all who participated in this worthwhile cause!
